Neal Carter

Neal Carter is the CEO and co-founder of Okanagan Specialty Fruits (OSF), a leading agricultural biotechnology company developing innovative tree-fruit varieties that reduce waste and improve quality across the supply chain. OSF’s flagship innovation, the non-browning Arctic® apple, is the first bio-engineered apple approved in both the U.S. and Canada and is grown, sliced, and packed to deliver a longer shelf life, less labor, and less shrink for food service and retail. In addition to fresh fruit, Neal has expanded OSF’s portfolio into value-added products through Endless Orchard®, a hard-pressed cider made exclusively from Arctic® apples. The brand reflects OSF’s commitment to full-fruit utilization, circularity, and sustainable processing—ensuring more of every apple is used and fewer resources are wasted. A lifelong orchardist, Neal grows and packs apples and cherries at his family farm in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. For more than 40 years, he has worked as a bioresource engineer in over 50 countries and across dozens of crops, from maize to mango, spanning production, harvest, storage, processing, and packaging. This global experience fuels his conviction that biotechnology and smart, resource-efficient agriculture are essential to meeting the world’s growing food demands.
